The Horseshoe Bend Trail is an easy 0.6 mile (one way) walk along a paved route that ends at a massively deep section of Glen Canyon where it makes a distinct U-shape. Those not accustomed to hiking regularly may find the trail a bit more challenging since there is a bit of elevation gain on the way out.

Horseshoe Bend Trail Description
From the parking area, head toward the paved trail where it gradually winds around a hill. As you circle the hill Glen Canyon comes into view, though not the Colorado River just yet. The trail bends back and makes small switchbacks until it brings you to the canyon rim overlooking the stunning Horseshoe Bend.
A sheer drop below presents the Colorado River forming an enormous U-shape in a dramatically steep and deep red sandstone canyon. Enjoy the view as long as you’d like and head out the same way you came in.
