Cub Creek Petroglyphs Trail Description

Stop #13

From the parking area, a short and easy trail ascends up to a rocky sandstone wall. All over the wall are spectacular petroglyphs that features a variety of imagery. Also be sure to look around at other nearby rock walls to see even more. In this case, binoculars will help out a lot to see more.

Stop #14

From the parking area just beyond Stop #13, cross the road and find the trail immediately across from the parking area. The trail will make a series of switchbacks and ascents through sagebrush and junipers, frequently ascending at a steep pace. You’ll soon reach the base of a large sandstone wall toward the top of the hill. Continue heading upward and you’ll pass a small metal sign in the trail. Just beyond that sign, begin looking around and up the wall to find the iconic lizard petroglyph, accompanied by several others around it. When you’re ready, head back out the same way you came up.
